Satirical Essay about Cloning

January 14, 2011

Free example essay on Cloning:
Family life in the new millennium is constantly changing. The number of mothers acquiring full-time employment is increasing, fathers are spending more time at the office and consequently their children are spending more time at daycare. Economist Michael Mitchell states his belief as to why this is happening, “The costs of living as well as the current condition of the Canadian economy are both placing pressure on employed Canadians – especially those with children – to spend more time in the office. The fear of losing one’s job is just too great right now.” But what about the effects this situation has on these families? In a recent country-wide survey of employed Canadians with children between the ages of 1 and 15, 91.2% of working women would like to be able to leave work early to see their children more each day. The survey also showed that the children who attend daycare spend on average 20.1 hours per week in that establishment. Another recent study conducted at the University of Toronto showed a strong correlation between the amount of time a parent spends rela, and the quality of their work and family life. Psycho-sociologist Fran Baker states that, “when a person is able to take time from their busy schedule, and do something that they enjoy, it improves their attitude towards their job and helps to form a healthy family dynamic.”…

Animal Testing Essay

April 10, 2009

Today as I trot through the forests of my homelands, I feel free knowing that my life is free from torture. For me, there will be no new products tested on my body or any body of any organism. My life is safe now from all manufacturers and scientists. My life is no longer open for testing. Although this may be true for my generation and me in the year 2050, it unfortunately was not for my ancestors.

Long ago, I was walking through the forests of my homelands. It was a cold morning; so I wasn’t really worried about many predators, just something to eat. As I foraged, I began to sense something. My left ear turned 40 degrees to try and catch a sound to help me find out where and what it was I was hearing. Was it a predator or just a rabbit foraging like myself?…

Acid Rain Research Paper

Rain is one of the most essential ingredients for human and animal life. The water provided by rain allows all life on Earth to survive. Although rain is naturally acidic, it is being increasingly acidified by pollution from homes, factories, power stations and cars. The term used to describe this problem is “acid rain”. Acid rain hasn’t just occurred in the last twenty to thirty years. In fact a chemist named Robert Smith found rainfall in Manchester, U.K., to be very acidic. He suggested a link between acid rain and SO2 given off when coal was burnt by local factories. This was over 100 years ago.

Acid rain is caused when pollutants from cars, homes, factories and power stations mix with atmospheric moisture. These pollutants may be carried in clouds for long distances before falling, which means that forests and lakes far away from factories may be damaged by acid rain….

• What kinds of things are there in the world of nature?

• What are these things composed of, and how does this makeup affect their behavior or operation?

• How did all these things come to be structured as they are?

• What are the characteristic functions of each natural thing and /or its parts?

At one point or another, we have all asked these questions and speculated on answers. Students, whose task is to write a scientific essay, should not speculate in their answers but devise experiments in order to gather information and, on the basis of carefully stated predictions, or hypotheses, conduct analyses and offer explanations.
